The American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia is a service-oriented organization. Throughout the past year, AmCham Slovakia has frequently shown that it is dedicated to serving its members through the support of its three main pillars: contacts, information and advocacy.

The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) was founded in 1993 in Bratislava as an independent and self-supporting organization, entirely dependant on contributions from its members. Today, it serves as one of the most active foreign Chambers of Commerce in Slovakia. Currently, its membership has reached more than 330 international and Slovak companies, including many of the largest and important firms in Slovakia. Of this amount, approximately 23 % are American companies, about 42 % are Slovak companies and about 35 % are other nationalities.

Friends of Slovakia

Friends of Slovakia is a Washington based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of volunteers founded in 2001. The mission of the organization is to strengthen friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the United States and Slovakia, as nations sharing similar values of freedom, democracy and a market economy. We seek to promote this cooperation in economic, business, political, security, cultural, educational and humanitarian fields and to improve mutual understanding between our two peoples. To achieve our mission, we have set the following three goals:

  1. To educate the US public about Slovakia, its history, its culture, and its numerous ties to the United States.
  2. To enhance the relationship between Slovakia and the United States in all its various aspects, including promotion of increased cultural and economic exchanges between our two countries.
  3. To promote understanding and friendship between our two peoples.

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) is a government-funded allowance organization that works under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. SARIO’s primary objective is to improve the standard of living of Slovak citizens by increasing employment and reducing regional disparities.
The mission of the agency is to design and use all kinds of stimuli to increase the influx of foreign investment while promoting Slovak companies in their effort to transform into high-performance subjects successful in the globalized world market.

The main ambition is to assist in the process of Slovakia´s transformation to the business – technology- innovation – talent center of Europe and to become the preferred partner of companies contemplating investment in Central Europe. Accelerate the achievement of the Slovak economy in a measurable way, contributing to the quantitative and qualitative growth.
The strategic choice of territories and sectorial focus should increase the share of investors, whose production is characterized by high added value.
Supporting export activities of Slovak businesses so that this support reflects significant way the indicators of foreign trade of Slovakia.

Slovak American Foundation

Slovak American Foundation

The Foundation is the legacy successor organization to the Slovak American Enterprise Fund which was formed in 1991 to use US government funds to invest in the regional economy. More than $35 million was invested in equity and loans and the Fund was instrumental in creating over 3,000 jobs in Slovakia.

The Slovak American Foundation, a US 501c3 non-profit organization, is now focused on the startup ecosystem in Slovakia and its work is aligned with efforts of the private sector to create a competitive environment for young, innovative companies with an aim to attract domestic and foreign investors and become a leader in the Central-European region.

With the 2015 launch of Slovak Startup Teams | US Connections, SAF is sponsoring founders/management teams of entrepreneurial ventures for knowledge trips to the US to accelerate their businesses.
